My 'First' Book.

Im calling this my 'First' book, because it was the book that made me realise reading can and is fun!

The book selection throughout high school were always the classics, dont get me wrong, I can apprechiate a classic novel. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the dramas that unfolded in the Jane Austin's novels, however, the difference between the novels my crazy-symbol-disecting teacher chose and Talking to Adam, was that I picked this book!

This book is filled with 'First' time moments, not only did it teach me to love reading, but it was the first book to make me cry & is currently the first book I am reading for a second time. It has been six years since I read this book, since leaving highschool in '08 I have been searching high & low for this book (which went out of print in '09) & therefore is in no book store, or on you famous Book Depository website either. After giving up for a while I was given the name of a website that searches second-hand book stores, I was so excited to receive the email saying they had found the book, the catch, it was $85!!!

I mean, I loved the book, but couldnt justify that kind of money for a teenage novel, with huge print & less than 300 pages. After closing the email, I randomly searched ebay for the thousandth time & there it was - Talking to Adam for $10 & free delivery, if that isnt fate I dont know what is.

THE BLURB:

"Everything is slotting into place for Katie. Then suddenly her world falls apart.
No one can help, no one can understand until...
she meets the stranger with the compelling green eyes, manky dreads,
and 1,000-watt grin...until Katie starts talking to Adam."

Currenly half way through reading the novel & I am enjoying reading it for a second time, there are parts I remember of course, but I love that im still being surprised with the turn of every page. The writing style is very simple, but effective, when it isnt Katie talking, there are her a few of her diary entries. The novel is bringing me back to a time when I was younger, when us girls had a crush on a guy & worried what he thought about us. Ahh the thrill of being young, when the smaller things seemed so important.

Im looking forward to tucking myself into bed to continue reading my novel, Ill keep you updated of course. Until then, happy reading!
